Thierry Mugler: Remembering a fashion powerhouse

Some may not be aware of the impact of Mugler on the world of fashion and beauty. The blue and white star-shaped bottle of his perfume, Angel, can be found in almost any beauty store. If you watch the Met Gala, you will see his creations worn by celebrities.
Mugler, who died last month at the age of 73, dressed famous figures like David Bowie, George Michael, and KimKardashian all while staying true to his extravagant vision.

The beginning of Mugler’s career was a normal place. He moved to Paris in the 70s to start his career as a fashion designer. He was an assistant designer for fashion houses in Paris, London and Milan while he was a professional photographer.
The first ready-to-wear collection was shown in 1973. Zeitgeist Official says that the brand name was changed to Thierry Mugler in 1974. The first-ever fashion show to open to the public was hosted by Mugler.
Haute couture houses like Yves Saint Laurent followed Mugler’s example later on. Many other fashion shows were only for the elite and famous, but an open show meant that the public could attend.

His first haute couture collection was announced in 1992. The show was held at the Ritz and Mugler used latex, rubber and feathers. The designer was inspired by dominatrixes. A trans model wore a red cowboy look in the show. The motorcycle corset had mirrors and handlebars as part of the garment. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has a corset.
Angel was launched in 1992. According to the Perfume Society, Mugler met with the founder of Clarins to create Angel. Luca Turin described the scent as like a woman in a film who seethes and marry him in the end. I had to buy it many times because I returned to smell Angel.
The beauty counter at Mugler has an eco-friendly filling machine. The station acts like a soda machine when a customer comes back to buy a perfume. Alien and Aura are two successful fragrances that are eligible for refill.
Mugler retired from fashion in 2002, although he occasionally designed costume pieces for clients on his own.
An extreme diet and fitness regimen was the focus of the designer. According to the writer, Mr. Mugler may be the first designer whose success can be said to have increased in correlation to his personal desire to never again be seen. After his brand went down, Mugler wanted to be different.
One year before that interview, Mugler was the artistic advisor and costume designer of the tour. He created the dress for KimKardashian at the Met Gala in 2019.
Kim and Ye decided on Mugler after hearing the theme of the Met Gala. It is camp, then it is Mr. Mugler. He is the leader of the camp.

The entire look was designed by Mugler. The design evoked the image of a woman coming out of water and was a success in Mugler’s eyes.
On January 23, 2022, Mugler passed away. The passing of Mr. Mugler was announced on Sunday, January 23, 2022. His soul should rest in peace.
Other designers paid tribute to Mugler through social media. A photo of Jerry Hall wearing a Mugler dress in 1980 was included in a caption written by Jacobs.
I have never experienced anything like that before. The beauty! The fashion! The women! The extraordinary execution of a dream by a fashion showman. Thank you for sharing your crazy dreams.
Owens wrote about how Mugler inspired him to become the monster he is today.
Even though Mugler has passed, his legacy will live on.
