Urban Decay is here!

Urban Decay is here in Australia! Every makeup lovers dream have finally come true with the launch of Urban Decay in Mecca Maxima yesterday! Since I had to work all day, I dropped by Melbourne Central Mecca in the evening. By then, it was pretty quiet and I just grabbed what I wanted and left. The Urban Decay displays were still incredibly neat and well stocked even after such a busy day. I saw some photos from the morning and the crowds were insane. The lines were out the door, I’m not sure if I have the patience to wait outside.

A week ago, BeautyHeaven posted a between Australia and the US. The Naked palettes are $78 in Australia and after conversation/taxes in the US are $76.30. The minimal price difference is because our exchange rate has been so crummy lately. Buying from brick and mortar is probably better these days since you save on shipping costs. If you want to read more price comparisons, head over to BeautyHeaven.

I ended up purchasing the Naked 3 palette, it’s been on my wishlist for over a year. Now, my Naked palette collection is complete! I’ve been looking at everyone’s Urban Decay hauls on instagram…so jealous!! There are so many other products I want from Urban Decay like the Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush and makeup setting sprays. So many wants and not enough $$$.

To finish off my post, here’s a photo of my sexy naked palette collection haha Out of the 3 packaging, I like Naked 2 the most – simple and clean.

Did you head to the Urban Decay launch day? Did you buy any goodies?

The Perfect Palette Tag

the perfect palette tag

You know, I’ve never been a fan of tags but lately I’ve been enjoying reading them. I can’t remember what I was doing the other night but I was reading a blog (I can’t remember whose) and happened to come across The Perfect Palette Tag. I was curious at everyone’s responses, I even googled the tag so I could read more. Then it got me thinking, why don’t I write-up a post too and here it is!! My responses are only based on the palettes I own.

Perfect Palette Tag Questions

1. Best Packaging & 2. Best Color Payoff – Urban Decay Vice 2
The best packaging palette would be Urban Decay Vice 2. I love the purple case with a crystal Urban Decay logo at the top, it just feels so fancy. As I mentioned in my blog post, this palette has a large mirror where you can actually use it to apply makeup with. The colours in the palette are ridiculously amazing and I just love everything about it. 3. Most Versatile – Dior Cannage Collection
This is the oldest palette I own. I bought it wayy before I got into makeup and even before I met my husband! This palette has everything you need in one – eyeshadow, mascara, blush, powder and a lippy.

4. Best for Traveling – Marc Jacobs in Lolita
When Marc Jacobs released a makeup range, I knew I had to get my hands on something. I grabbed the eyeshadow palette in Lolita because I knew it would be a good neutral palette and with the sleek packaging, it would be awesome for traveling.

5. Biggest Regret
None. I never have any regrets when it comes to buying makeup. Even if it doesn’t work out, they are usually still pretty to look at. I have quite low expectations with most things so I’m really easy to please!

6. Best Color Names – Too Faced Joy To The Girls
The Too Faced Joy To The Girls palette was from the 2013 holiday collection. The palette comes with 15 eyeshadows and each of the eyeshadows has a Christmas themed name. My favourite names from this palette is Sugar Plum, Twinkle, Too-Too and Powdered Sugar. Adorable names aren’t they?

7. Least Used – Too Faced Natural Eye Palette
It’s not that I don’t like this palette, it’s just that I have so many other palettes that I keep going back to. The palette comes with 9 colours and they are all quite neutral coloured, consisting of some matte and shimmery shades.

8. Most Used & 10. Desert Island – Naked 1 & 2 palettes
The Naked 1 & 2 are my most used palettes so I would take them with me to a desert island. I can’t get enough of both these palettes so it made perfect sense to categorise them as the most used and desert island. I can’t wait to get Naked 3 in a few weeks time to complete my Naked collection!

9. Most Loved – NARS One Night Stand Blush Palette
Well everyone…this is my most loved palette! Why do I love it so much? It’s packed with the popular shades and it’s limited edition. It comes with 4 blushes, a highlighter and a bronzer.

Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette Review

Hello ladies! Today I have a review of the Urban Decay Vice 2 palette. I LOVEE Urban Decay eyeshadows and I LOVEE this palette!! I am so glad I purchased this, I was umm-ing and ahh-ing for a while. Every Urban Decay palette I own, I pretty much get a lot of use out of them. The new Urban Decay Vice 2 is a limited edition palette and features 20 new shades (from duochromes to mattes).

I absolutely adore the packaging. It comes in a sturdy purple packaging with a crystal Urban Decay logo at the top. Opening the palette is quite easy by pushing the long button on the front and the lid will pop open. One of the many great things about this palette, is the mirror. It’s large enough where you can actually use it to apply makeup.

The colours in the palette are ridiculously amazing and I just love everything about it. My favourite colours are Coax, Betrayal, Toxic, Damaged and Derailed. The eyeshadows are really easy to blend because of the awesome buttery and pigmented formula. I would say that most of the eyeshadows lasts all day on me (around 8 hours) – with primer. There is not much fallout which is great. There was only one shade that did not perform as well as the others and that was Lovesick. The formula was a little dry and powdery which I found hard to apply.
