The Perfect Palette Tag

the perfect palette tag

You know, I’ve never been a fan of tags but lately I’ve been enjoying reading them. I can’t remember what I was doing the other night but I was reading a blog (I can’t remember whose) and happened to come across The Perfect Palette Tag. I was curious at everyone’s responses, I even googled the tag so I could read more. Then it got me thinking, why don’t I write-up a post too and here it is!! My responses are only based on the palettes I own.

Perfect Palette Tag Questions

1. Best Packaging & 2. Best Color Payoff – Urban Decay Vice 2
The best packaging palette would be Urban Decay Vice 2. I love the purple case with a crystal Urban Decay logo at the top, it just feels so fancy. As I mentioned in my blog post, this palette has a large mirror where you can actually use it to apply makeup with. The colours in the palette are ridiculously amazing and I just love everything about it. 3. Most Versatile – Dior Cannage Collection
This is the oldest palette I own. I bought it wayy before I got into makeup and even before I met my husband! This palette has everything you need in one – eyeshadow, mascara, blush, powder and a lippy.

4. Best for Traveling – Marc Jacobs in Lolita
When Marc Jacobs released a makeup range, I knew I had to get my hands on something. I grabbed the eyeshadow palette in Lolita because I knew it would be a good neutral palette and with the sleek packaging, it would be awesome for traveling.

5. Biggest Regret
None. I never have any regrets when it comes to buying makeup. Even if it doesn’t work out, they are usually still pretty to look at. I have quite low expectations with most things so I’m really easy to please!

6. Best Color Names – Too Faced Joy To The Girls
The Too Faced Joy To The Girls palette was from the 2013 holiday collection. The palette comes with 15 eyeshadows and each of the eyeshadows has a Christmas themed name. My favourite names from this palette is Sugar Plum, Twinkle, Too-Too and Powdered Sugar. Adorable names aren’t they?

7. Least Used – Too Faced Natural Eye Palette
It’s not that I don’t like this palette, it’s just that I have so many other palettes that I keep going back to. The palette comes with 9 colours and they are all quite neutral coloured, consisting of some matte and shimmery shades.

8. Most Used & 10. Desert Island – Naked 1 & 2 palettes
The Naked 1 & 2 are my most used palettes so I would take them with me to a desert island. I can’t get enough of both these palettes so it made perfect sense to categorise them as the most used and desert island. I can’t wait to get Naked 3 in a few weeks time to complete my Naked collection!

9. Most Loved – NARS One Night Stand Blush Palette
Well everyone…this is my most loved palette! Why do I love it so much? It’s packed with the popular shades and it’s limited edition. It comes with 4 blushes, a highlighter and a bronzer.

My US beauty haul

Happy Sunday!! Today I have my US beauty haul that I wanted to share with you. It has taken me a while to snap photos of the makeup I purchased in the US, I’m still suffering from post holiday blues. Prior to my trip, I didn’t buy any makeup for months and months because I knew I could get them heaps cheaper overseas. I purchased half of my makeup stash online when Sephora had their 20% off VIB sale and got them sent directly to my in laws place. Considering how cheap the makeup in the US are and another 20% off, I think I got a pretty good deal.

The first thing we did when we got off the plane was raid Target for a SIM card but it just so happened a bunch of EOS lip balms were waiting for me there so I snagged a few. I loved Target so much, we stopped by another 5-6 times, not just for beauty stuff but for Flaming Hot Cheetos and Gold-Fish biscuits.

A few items (Chanel & Dior) were purchased at duty-free at the airport. It was quite a good deal especially when their price is lower than stores outside and you don’t have to pay the 9% tax.

One thing I really wanted to buy but didn’t, was the Em Cosmetic Life Palette. I put in an order twice but both times got rejected so I gave up. I thought if they didn’t want to take my money, I’ll use it else where.

I hope you enjoyed the haul and let me know if there is a particular product you want me to review first otherwise I’ll randomly choose. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!!

Everything in this post was purchased by me.

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette Swatches and Review

Happy Wednesday!! Three more days until my birthday!! 🙂 I will be celebrating with the hubs on Saturday night and then Sunday with my parents. I love birthdays, I have been counting down since June 20! Anyway back on topic, my favourite all time eye look have always been neutrals which is why I really adore the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette. I wanted to give you my opinion of the palette as well as some swatches. I’ve been using the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette everyday with different colour combination, it makes you look made up but not too over the top for work.

The Natural Eye, Neutral Eye Shadow Collection, contains everything you need to create the pretty, soft, and slightly sexy “natural eyes” you’ve seen on super models and celebrities and have always wanted to perfect for yourself.

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette Swatches and ReviewThe packaging is a light flip top box that feels sturdy. The palette comes with 9 colours and they are all quite neutral coloured, consisting of some matte and shimmery shades. I had a lot of trouble trying to swatch Silk Teddy and Heaven, for some reason it wouldn’t show up properly on photos, I ended up taking like 20 photos from different lighting.

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette Swatches and Review

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette Swatches and Review My favourite shades are Honey Pot and Nude Beach, why? Because I love anything that’s shimmery, I just get attracted to it. When I was swatching, I noticed some shades did have fallout. I would recommend doing your eye makeup first then followed by foundation.Too Faced Natural Eye Palette Swatches and Review

The palette houses 3 ‘how-to’ cards, each having 3 easy steps for creating Day, Fashion, and Classic eye look. The instructions are very easy and simple to understand.

What I like about this palette:

  • The cute packaging
  • Contains both shimmery and matte shades
  • Strong pigmentation
  • Long lasting colours
  • Very blend-able

This palette retails for $53.95 from

This is my first Too Faced product and I love it! Have you used Too Faced before?

As part of a blogging event, I was provided with a $50 gift card to spend at Mecca Maxima. This does not influence my opinion.
