Stuff I’ve been loving – June Edition

stuff I've been loving june edition

Welcome to stuff I’ve been loving June Edition!! I’ve been trialing and loving so many products in June, it’s unbelievable. Some of the products featured on this month’s stuff I’ve been loving are old favourites whereas some are new. Grab a cup of tea and something to eat, this is going to be a long post. Lets get started!

stuff I've been loving june edition

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum* – I’ve been using this serum for all of June and I must say for a serum that is under $50 this one wins hands down. It keeps my face soft and smooth throughout the night. The serum has a light floral fragrance but fades after a few minutes. In terms of firmness and lines, I haven’t noticed much difference yet and to be honest I didn’t expect it to. These things take a while to correct.

Lancome Bi Facil Eye Make-Up Remover – I received this deluxe sample from my mum a few months ago. I decided to take this on my trip to Taiwan… let me just say this is ah-mazing. It removes waterproof eyeliner sooo well. I don’t use mascara so I can’t tell you how well that comes off. I just soak my cotton pad and press it against my eye. One swipe is all it takes to remove most of my eye makeup.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick* – There are so many uses for this product. I use it on my nose, lips, nails, knees and elbows. There was one night I was sitting in front of the tv, I just used this as a lip balm and noticed my cuticles were quite dry. So I massaged some around my nails and the next day I noticed it wasn’t as dry anymore. Can you believe this multi purpose product is only $3.99 at Chemist Warehouse?

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Extreme Fluid** – A while back I was chatting to a work colleague and she was speaking highly of this sunscreen. She said her dermalogist recommended it to her for sensitive skin. So I went out and got myself a bottle and never looked back. It’s a light texture and doesn’t clog pores or irritate the skin. I use this everyday under my makeup and it has not caused any problems for me. It’s fragrance free and offers a very high sun protection. When I was typing this post up, I realised I actually forgot to take a close up photo of this (sorry!).

Earrings – Since everyone has been loving the rose gold trend, I have decided to follow and bought these rose gold petite cube earrings. I got these from Taiwan for like a few dollars. They are so light, it feels as though you are wearing nothing and they are perfect for work. I did have to coat the back with nail polish because my ears are allergic to anything that is not gold.

Sasatinnie Rosehip Oil Face Mask – If you saw my Taiwan haul post last month, you would have seen I bought a bunch of face masks. I bought 3 boxes of this mask. It was so cheap too, I think it was just under $10AUD per box. Each box contains 10 masks which is equivalent to $1 a mask. This $1 mask does a better job than some of those $20 masks I’ve tried. I wake up with amazingly smooth skin every time I use this.

100% Pure Pot Rouge Blush in Posey* – Don’t let this little jar fool you! I realised after using it that there is so much pigment, a little goes a long way. I’ve been using it about 3 times a week and it has not left a dent in the jar. This blush gives the face a natural flush of colour. Posey is a nice colour that would suit most skin tones. I used my fingers to apply this blush and it is quite blendable. I would suggest to use less and build up as you goes.

Colour Theory Nail Polish in Rose Gold* – My current favourite nail polish this month! You can read all about it on my Monday Mani here.

Colour Theory All Eye Need Palette* – I’m such a badie, I also forgot to take a close up photo!  For a palette that is $10, this is pretty good quality. The All Eye Need contains 5 colours – 4 metallic and 1 slightly shimmery. This little palette can create basic looks and even the smokey eye. Great for travelling if you don’t plan on using much makeup. These eyeshadows can lasts all day on me with a primer underneath.

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar – I bought this from the Tony Moly store in Taiwan. The shade name was attached to the barcode sticker and I ripped it off without realising so I have no idea what shade this is. The Gloss Bar is in between a lip gloss and lipstick. It leaves a beautiful pop of colour and shine. The packaging is also so unbelievable cute, the lid has bunny ears and face. My only regret is not buying more…

Circa Home Scented Soy Candle in Pear & Lime* – I was raving about this candle in my weekly round up post. I find that candles create a warm and homey atmosphere. Circa Home describes the scent as invigorating blend of zesty Mexican Lime, Anjou Pear, warm Vanilla and Sandalwood. Honestly speaking I’m really bad at describing scents but I can tell you this smells sweet and delicious. The packaging is simple yet elegant. The wooden lid and frosted glass can be re-used after you’re done with the candle.

Jane Iredale Pommist Hydration Spray** – Pommist is a facial spray packed of powerful antioxidants and UV protector. The main ingredients of this fantastic spray is pomegranate extract, white tea leaf extract and rosemary leaf extract. All these three combined will help hydrate and protect the skin. The sprayer is very fine so you won’t expect your face to be drenched in mist. The scent is fruity and is on the stronger side. For people who don’t like scented products, you may find this too much for you. I on the other hand love the scent and keep spraying all over my face like a drug. Another benefit of this product is that it can be used over makeup. Sometimes if I over powder my face, I spray a little Pommist over it and it transform my cakey face into a dewy one.

New Lancôme Visionnaire and Grandiôse

Lancôme Visionnaire and Grandiôse
I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since my last post. I’m hoping to get back to my regular blogging routine next year – three months no internet really throws you out of whack. Anyway a few months ago, I was invited to the launch of the Lancôme newly improved Visionnaire and Grandiôse mascara at Myer Melbourne. As you know, I have been using Lancome serums for a while now and can honestly say they are the best things ever!
Lancome Visionnaire and Grandiôse

Lancôme Grandiôse

Check out this sexy mascara! The Lancome’s Grandiose mascara packaging is quite the classy one. The lid is semi transparent and has a black rose embedded inside, kind of reminds me of a rose inside a vase. The ‘swan neck’ wand is designed for easy application so that the brush can reach and coat every lash evenly. When I first used the mascara, I found it a little difficult (..I’m unco) but after about 2 or 3 times, it got a lot easier. The mascara looks very natural on me and you can apply many layers without clumping. When it came to removing, I used my Bioderma Crealine H2O Cleanser and it came off relatively easy. Although I don’t use much mascara, I am very impressed with this one.

Lancôme Visionnaire LR 2412 4% – Cx

When I heard that Lancome improved the formula of the Visionnaire, I knew I had to try it. I’ve been using the previous Visionnaire for the past one year. I mentioned in my previous post that I didn’t really notice any difference in my skin texture. But when I stopped using it for a couple of weeks, I felt there was something different about my skin and realised that the Visionnaire was doing wonders without me even realising. The Visionnaire – Cx is a light texture serum, very similar texture to the previous version. The scent on the original Visionnaire is a lot stronger than this one. I actually prefer weaker scented products and sometimes found the original Visionnaire too over powering. This serum helps keep my skin hydrated and prevent wrinkles so if you’re looking for a new serum in your skincare routine, remember to check this one out.

Have you tried Lancome’s Grandiose mascara or Visionnarire – Cx?

My Skincare Routine

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! Today I thought I would share my skincare routine. I’ve always talked about makeup or hair care but never really went into detail about skincare. I’ve been using the products in the photos for the last 3 months. These photos were taken 2 months ago and my genifique has now finished.

Shiseido The Skincare Purifying Cleansing Foam – I’ve been using this cleanser on and off for about 5 or 6 years. When I was over in the US last year, the lady at the Shiseido counter told me that they are discontinuing The Skincare range and will be replacing with the Ibuki range. I was quite disappointed to hear my all time favourite cleanser has been discontinued. This cleanser really cleans your face, without stripping away your natural oils or causing any dryness. I use this day and night. If I use foundation on a particular day, I would use my oil cleanser first and then use this to remove any residual makeup.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +* – Last year Clinique came up with a new formula for the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and added a plus to it. During my uni days, I did try Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion but found it to be not moisturising enough for my skin. I was a little sceptical when I was trying the new plus version. After using it for 3 months now, I can tell you that this new plus version is perfect for people who have drier skin and is in need of more hydration. It has a nice texture to use underneath makeup and is surprisingly lightweight.

Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched  – For night-time, I usually like to use a cream that is thicker and super moisturising. I randomly bought this moisturiser in Sephora last year without reading any reviews or anything. I would have to say this is one of my best random purchases I’ve made in a long time. This moisturiser is slightly thicker but absorbs really quick and doesn’t feel heavy. I wake up with really smooth glowy skin.

Lancome Advanced Genifique – I use the Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate twice a day (day & night). I found after using this for a few days, the results were quite impressive and made my skin looked so much better. The biggest difference I’ve noticed is how much it brightens my complexion. The serum is quite light and a small pea-size distributed by the dropper is sufficient for the entire face and neck.

Lancome Visionnaire – I’ve been using Visionnaire for about 4 months now and I haven’t really noticed any difference with my skin. I spoke to the Lancome lady at David Jones and she told me it’s also to help prevent wrinkles so totally ok if I don’t notice anything right now.

Lancome DreamTone – I have quite a bit of scarring and uneven skintone on my right cheek. Ever since using DreamTone, I have noticed that the scarring has started to fade. Three months later, it’s barely noticeable now. I used to get those really big deep acne that ends up leaving a horrible red patch.

I use these products in the following order:

  • Shiseido The Skincare Purifying Cleansing Foam
  • Lancome Advanced Genifique
  • Lancome DreamTone
  • Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +
  • Shiseido Ibuki Eye Correcting Cream – Not in the photos above, I’ve just recently started using this eye cream.

  • Shiseido The Skincare Purifying Cleansing Foam
  • Lancome Advanced Genifique
  • Lancome Visionnaire
  • Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched
  • Shiseido Ibuki Eye Correcting Cream

Tell me what’s your skincare routine?
