Stuff I’m Loving – February Edition

Stuff I'm loving february edition

Oh my gosh, its been almost a month and a half since I last blogged… there goes one of my 2016 goals. I’ve been spending a lot of my free time baking cakes and cookies. There’s just something about baking that helps relax the mind. Actually with all this baking… there’s also the eating part of it which is contributing towards my muffin top. Anyway back on topic, today’s post will be on Stuff I’m Loving – February Edition.

First up we have the Bőr Organics Eye Love Skin that I’ve been using for the last four weeks and have been very impressed with. Bőr products are 100% certified organic and formulated with natural and locally sourced ingredients. This eye cream contains ingredients such as white tea, coconut, avocado and rosehip to assist with hydrating the area around the eyes. I’ve found this eye cream to be hydrating (no more tightness around the eyes) and it has also helped to reduce puffiness.

I’ve been really into anti aging as I’m almost at the age where wrinkles will be popping up left, right and centre. So when I was sent the A’kin Purely Revitalising Brightening Day Cream I was pretty excited. I’ve used this cream for just over four weeks and it has left my skin feeling brighter and more moisturised. The texture of the cream is slightly thicker and the scent is not overwhelming. It absorbs into the skin quite quickly and doesn’t leave the skin looking greasy or shiny. A’kin products are vegan friendly and does not contain any nasties like sulfates, parabens and mineral oils. They also don’t test on animals!!

I’ve been using a few Lady Jayne hair accessories that were sent to me recently. The tangleze is the perfect size to put in handbags or gym bags. I mainly use mine twice a week after I’ve washed my hair to get rid of any tangles. The bobby pins and leather bow hair tie is great for the gym. My usual gym hairdo is a super high pony tail and bobby pins to pin down any pesky hairs.

I’ve previously reviewed some Dusty Girls products and have said how great they were. A few months ago, Dusty Girls released four shades of Natural Vegan Lipstick and four shades of Natural Mineral Eye Shadow. I was sent Natural Vegan Lipstick in Guava Pink and Natural Mineral Eye Shadow in Paper Bark & Summer Tan. Both the eye-shadows are quite neutral toned and have great pigmentation. The lipstick shade is a tad too light on its own but when paired with the right lip gloss, it looks amazing.

Philips EasyShine Ionic Styling Brush + Giveaway

Happy Wednesday! Oh my goodness, it’s November already and soo close to Christmas. You’re in for a treat today, if you or a friend/family friend has frizzy hair then this is the post for you!! Plus, there’s a sneaky giveaway at the end of this post.

Today I’ll be reviewing the new Philips EasyShine Ionic Styling Brush. This brush is designed to de-frizz and smooth out the hair. So if you have the troubled frizziness then you’ve got to try this brush out. When I was researching on this brush, I found that it’s super popular in Asia and there’s a couple of more designs compared with what was released in the Australian market.

Static electricity exists everywhere especially in dry environment. That’s why your hair gets frizzy and messy easily. To help you get rid of this annoying issue, we bring easier solution: ionic styling brush. The ionizer generates negative ions to neutralize positive charge of static electricity. It helps to reduce frizz and bring back smoothness and shine to your hair instantly.

Let me describe my hair to you. My hair is straight and thin. There’s been a few occasion when I go to the hairdresser and they ask me if I have permanently straightened my hair and I say no. They give me a confused look, especially after washing my hair, it’s dead straight. The only time my hair frizzes up is when I roll around too much in bed and the following morning my ends are frizzy.

The most effective way to use this brush is when hair is a little damp and brush through from the roots to tips. So essentially, I use this brush the following morning and not after I’ve washed my hair. I would wet my hair and then brush through my hair especially at the ends.

The Ionic magic is activated by flicking the switch on the right of the brush, the Ionic icon will illuminate and that’s when you know you have some Ionic action happening.

The bristle cushion has just enough pressure so that it provides even distribution around the head. The brush is not waterproof so please don’t bring it into the shower. The brush bristles can be easily removed and washed by pressing the button under the bristles.

Being clumsy and uncoordinated, I would have preferred if the brush had a handle because I’m really prone to dropping things. However since I’ve been using it for 3 weeks or so, I haven’t actually dropped it yet and it does fit quite well in my hand.

The brush is operated with 1 AAA battery which is included in the box so it can be used straight from purchase.

This RRP for this brush is $39.95, it’s reasonably priced so great as a Christmas present.

In collaboration with Philips & Beauty and Things, we will be giving away one Philips EasyShine Ionic Styling Brush.

Natura Siberica Review

Natura Siberica
Today’s post will be on some goodies I’ve received from Natura Siberica a couple of months ago. The lovely peeps over at Natura Siberica sent me their hand cream, Oblepikha Shampoo & Conditioner for trial. I was very surprised when I received the beautifully packaged parcel on my doorstep.

Natura Siberica was founded in 2007 and has been recently launched into the Australian market in September 2015. There is a total of 26 products in the Natura Siberica range for the hair, body, hand creams, soaps and bath salts.

Natura Siberica products are made from herbs, plant adaptogens and natural ingredients sourced from Siberia.

Oblepikha Maximum Volume Shampoo & Conditioner

Within the Oblepikha Shampoo & Conditioner range, it is split into 3 categories: Maximum Volume, Intensive Hydration & Damaged Hair. I was sent the shampoo and conditioner for Maximum Volume.

Maximum Volume is suited for all hair types whether you want thicker hair or something to help hydrate, this range is for everyone. It helps to provide hair with volume from the roots, saturate hair with moisture and create elasticity in the hair. Both the shampoo and conditioner are formulated with Vitamin C, E and B, Wheat Germ and Taigi Lungwort to help nourish and protect the hair.

Oblepikha Shampoo & Conditioner does not contain the following ingredients:

  • SLS
  • SLES
  • Mineral Oils
  • PEG
  • Parabens
  • Glycol

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) is the stuff that helps shampoo lather and although this shampoo is free of SLS, it lathers amazingly. If you didn’t read the label, you wouldn’t even be able to tell there’s no SLS.

I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner for the past 3 weeks and have been thoroughly enjoying it. When I first squeezed the shampoo out of the bottle, I was surprised at the shampoo being orange in colour and it reminded me of an egg yolk (weird comparison I know). Both scents are quite pleasant and consistency is just right too. Packaging wise, I love the bright coloured bottles. However, I found the bottles a little tough to squeeze products out. There’s no issues when it’s still full but when you’re down to the last bit, you might need to use some muscles.

Natura Siberica hand cream

Extra-Firming Hand Cream

Natural Siberica has two hand cream: Extra Firming Hand Cream and the Lifting Hand Cream. Today I’ll be discussing the Extra-Firming Hand Cream.

This hand cream does not contain any silicone, synthetic fragrances, mineral oil, PEG and parabens. 99% of the ingredients used are of natural origin and contains Siberian Ginseng, Limonnik Nanai and Vitamins E & C to help nourish dry hands. I’ve been using this hand cream since Tuesday night but have seen improvements to my dry hands already. The cream absorbs super fast onto the skin and does not leave any sticky residual behind. The cream has a nice texture and smells pretty delicious.

Overall, I love all three products that were sent to me and I’m not just saying this because this was gifted to me. it works incredibly well on my hair and hands. I’ve seen the shampoo and conditioner at Chemist Warehouse so if you’re interested go there and check it out.
