Natural Instinct Sunscreen Giveaway

Natural instinct sunscreen giveaway

Hi everyone!! I’m back from my trip to Brazil and US… boy did that go by quickly! To kick off my first post, Natural Instinct and Beauty & Things will be giving away one sunscreen pack containing three products: kids, invisible and a tinted face sunscreen.

Natural Instinct sunscreens are free from petrochemicals, mineral oils, PEGs, artificial fragrances, sulphates, parabens, silicones, titanium dioxide, and over 400 potentially harmful ingredients.

We took a tube of the Invisible Sunscreen with us to Brazil. The husband and I used it everyday for two weeks while over there. We didn’t get sunburned which shows the sunscreen was working its magic. However, I haven’t tried using it in the Australian sun yet so can’t comment on that but this sunscreen does leave a white cast. According to the ingredients listed on the tube, Zinc Oxide is what causes the white cast. To combat the white cast, pat sunscreen on skin. The white cast usually disappears once the sunscreen has been absorbed into the skin anyway.

Philips EasyShine Ionic Styling Brush + Giveaway

Happy Wednesday! Oh my goodness, it’s November already and soo close to Christmas. You’re in for a treat today, if you or a friend/family friend has frizzy hair then this is the post for you!! Plus, there’s a sneaky giveaway at the end of this post.

Today I’ll be reviewing the new Philips EasyShine Ionic Styling Brush. This brush is designed to de-frizz and smooth out the hair. So if you have the troubled frizziness then you’ve got to try this brush out. When I was researching on this brush, I found that it’s super popular in Asia and there’s a couple of more designs compared with what was released in the Australian market.

Static electricity exists everywhere especially in dry environment. That’s why your hair gets frizzy and messy easily. To help you get rid of this annoying issue, we bring easier solution: ionic styling brush. The ionizer generates negative ions to neutralize positive charge of static electricity. It helps to reduce frizz and bring back smoothness and shine to your hair instantly.

Let me describe my hair to you. My hair is straight and thin. There’s been a few occasion when I go to the hairdresser and they ask me if I have permanently straightened my hair and I say no. They give me a confused look, especially after washing my hair, it’s dead straight. The only time my hair frizzes up is when I roll around too much in bed and the following morning my ends are frizzy.

The most effective way to use this brush is when hair is a little damp and brush through from the roots to tips. So essentially, I use this brush the following morning and not after I’ve washed my hair. I would wet my hair and then brush through my hair especially at the ends.

The Ionic magic is activated by flicking the switch on the right of the brush, the Ionic icon will illuminate and that’s when you know you have some Ionic action happening.

The bristle cushion has just enough pressure so that it provides even distribution around the head. The brush is not waterproof so please don’t bring it into the shower. The brush bristles can be easily removed and washed by pressing the button under the bristles.

Being clumsy and uncoordinated, I would have preferred if the brush had a handle because I’m really prone to dropping things. However since I’ve been using it for 3 weeks or so, I haven’t actually dropped it yet and it does fit quite well in my hand.

The brush is operated with 1 AAA battery which is included in the box so it can be used straight from purchase.

This RRP for this brush is $39.95, it’s reasonably priced so great as a Christmas present.

In collaboration with Philips & Beauty and Things, we will be giving away one Philips EasyShine Ionic Styling Brush.

To win this fabulous prize, all you have to do is tell me in 25 words or less “What do you do to de-frizz your hair?”

I’ve tried most of the products but not all and here are my thoughts on the products I did manage to try:

Foaming & Cream Cleanser – Foaming cleanser contains Kakadu Plum, Goji Berry and vitamin E. While the cream cleanser is enriched with Rosehip oil, kakadu Plum and Ylang Ylang to improve the skin. Both these cleansers are gentle enough to use on my skin and doesn’t dry it out. I use the foaming cleanser as a secondary cleanser after I’ve removed my makeup with an oil cleanser.

Facial Wipes – These wipes are 100% biodegradable cleansing wipes which aims to dissolve traces of dirt, oil and makeup. Facial wipes have been dermatologist and allergy tested and should suit people with sensitive skin. I’ve only used these wipes a total of 3 times on a face full of makeup. Most of the facial wipes that I used before have never removed every single trace of makeup and this one is no different. This wipe did remove majority of my makeup so I’m pretty pleased with it.

Restoring Night Cream – The restoring night cream contains Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Rosehip Oil and Kakadu Plum to improve skin elasticity and smoothness. It’s good to see this moisturiser contains Shea butter which is known for its ultra nourishing benefits to combat dry skin. This night cream is perfect for winter as it keeps your face hydrated for up to 12hours, leaving your skin feeling nourished and hydrated.

Rejuvenating Rosehip Oil – If you haven’t tried rosehip oil, where have you been? This stuff is magical, it’s my winter saviour. So much goodness packed into one small bottle. The Natural Instinct Rosehip Oil is the ultimate anti-aging fighter, loaded with Antioxidants, Omega Oils and Vitamins.
